Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween
Trick or Treat!

I want to wish everyone a happy, safe, and candy-filled holiday! My treat to you is a gallery of fractal Halloween masks and other pictures to enjoy. They are all made with the UltraFractal program.

I started uploading images to microstock sites way back in 2007, and this is one of the first images I submitted. It was made with the program UltraFractal and was the beginning of many fractal images I have created. It’s great fun and I actually took some classes on it. I’ll share more as time goes on.

The Art of the Brick – Beyond Playtime

The Art of the BrickThis summer, I had the good fortune to be able to visit The Franklin Museum in Philadelphia to see The Art of the Brick by Nathan Sawaya. What an incredible artist to create all of his works out of Lego bricks. Like a painter choosing tube colors, he gets to choose brick colors, shapes, and sizes to create amazing sculptures. There was an interesting room where all of the works were his version of famous artworks.

But the best pieces were his original ideas and designs. Keep in mind that all of these are made with a child’s toy. I would love to play for a living and this looks like amazing fun. This exhibit in Philly is over, but if you ever have the chance to see it elsewhere, I hope you take advantage of the opportunity. I caught as much information about the art as I could. Where possible, I’ve included here the name of the piece.

Melbourne Walking Art Tour

Melbourne Walking Art TourPart of living a creative life is enjoying the art that others produce. I was fortunate to be able to visit Melbourne, Australia in 2006 and again in 2012. Both trips were definitely travel highlights of my life. While hubby worked, I wandered the city on foot taking pictures and relishing the outdoor art that seemed to pop up everywhere.

In a later post, I’ll showcase the aboriginal art that has influenced my own work, but this post is all about the art installations, sculptures, and architecture that Melbourne is home to. I have to admit that I don’t remember all the names of the artworks, and am way too lazy to look them up, so I’ll just show you the pictures and let you enjoy the visual imagery.

Make Your Life Your Masterpiece

I wanted to share this post that I created on Marlton Trainer. I think this shows how interconnected I feel art, fitness, and life are. It includes some of the art I’ve created over the years for you to enjoy.
