About My Visual Art

414043I’ve always been a restless creative, bouncing from one project to another. This blog is all about my art as well as my Jiu Jitsu journey, which has been a creative effort from the beginning.

I’m not currently doing a lot of analog art (meaning – pencil/pen/paint on paper/canvas) but am planning to get back to it by the end of the year. However, I’ve been doing a lot of digital photo edits, especially for my Jiu Jitsu teammates. You can check out some of these on my project page in McHugh BJJ Sports Photo Edits.

I passively market digital art and illustrations on 3 microstock sites.

  1. Thank you for visiting my blog today, Joan. I’m interested in both of your blogs. I love creating music, and I’m interested in art blogs and look forward to your posts here. I’m also eternally trying to lose weight, so your fitness blog interests me as well and I’ll be following there, too.

  2. I adore your tribal work! Particularly the patterns, and the piece with the snake/turtle/owl/bird designs. I dabble in digital art, but I’ve never felt confident enough to try selling it, so I applaud your courage!

    1. Thanks Christy! You must have checked out my microstock portfolio. Thank you. I love your color-coded kid system. You must be very busy, especially blogging while raising the kids! Amazing. 🙂

    1. Awesome! I’m glad you’re enjoying my pictures and also glad you’re inspired to get back into it yourself. Thank you for visiting and commenting. 🙂

  3. Hello and thanks for the information & encouragement on selling photos and artwork. I’m an amateur photographer who would like to pursue this. I was nominated for an award called the Infinity Dreams and wish to nominate you as well. If you’re interested in participating you can find the information at my blog:

Again, thanks much and keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you for the nomination. Because of time constraints, I’m not able to accept any awards right now, but I appreciate the thought! 🙂 Good luck on submitting your work to the micro stock agencies! I have many more illustrations than photos for sale. The sites really like vectors if you can work in Illustrator!

  4. Hi! Some time ago you were kind enough to follow my site http://www.ladiesgamers.com, which is a mix of articles about handheld gaming and real life. Recently I made the move from WordPress.com to a self hosted WordPress site, and although I’ve moved my followers with me, it seems no one has been getting notifications about my new posts since. ?
Now it might well be that you haven’t missed it one bit, but if you’d still like to stay up to date: please follow me again or subscribe by email. Thanks!

    1. Hi. I am still following you according to my reader list. I haven’t been too active for several months but your posts do show up in my reader. I also switched from wordpress.com to self-hosted and it took a little time for it all to settle properly, but it worked out in the end. Maybe give it some time? Good luck!

  5. Thank you for your encouragement. I wouldn’t have thought anything of the drop of visitors to the site, if a couple of followers hadn’t mentioned that somehow they hadn’t gotten any notifications in the mail anymore and thought there was nothing to read. Seems that yes, you do appear in someones reader, but not in the email notifications.
But thanks for taking the time to look at it!
